Conor, as chair of the Margaret Thatcher Centre, hosted the Third Annual Lecture and Gala Dinner at the Landmark Hotel Marylebone. This year’s guest speaker was FW De Klerk, former President of South Africa. De Klerk won the Nobel Peace Prize jointly with Nelson Mandela for his roles in ensuring the peaceful transition from Apartheid to democracy in South Africa. He later served as Deputy President under Nelson Mandela’s administration. De Klerk remarked about his own relationship with Margaret Thatcher and her success during her premiership in helping to ensuring to end Apartheid.
