Build Bournemouth Back

Our area is losing its sense of pride. That's what your survey replies say in their thousands. The message is the same from Westbourne to Wallisdown, from Kinson to Winton, Talbot Woods to Redhill, from Rossmore to West Cliff. Our streets are not cleaned enough, potholes are not filled, drains are not cleared, and graffiti not removed. Weeds are left untouched. This is not acceptable. Things seem to have got much worse since BCP Council came into being in 2019. Conor wants us all to come together, everyone who cares about our place regardless of political opinion, to produce ideas to get our area back on the right track.

Conor will use the influence he can bring, to involve you, local businesses, landlords, charities, business groups, police and council as well as National Government to work together to turn things around. That work is already underway. It will have a greater impact with your involvement.

In response to your feedback, Conor has taken proactive steps to address these challenges. From advocating for government funding to tackle gum litter on our streets to confronting the issue of vandalised and unused phone boxes, Conor has utilised his position to enact tangible solutions. Additionally, he's been a vocal advocate for enhancing policing efforts in the town centre, ensuring the safety and security of residents and businesses alike.

Furthermore, Conor has tirelessly campaigned to address the disproportionate intake of asylum seekers in Bournemouth, recognising the strain it places on our local resources and economy. We've made progress in restoring normal trading conditions for affected businesses and continue to push for a fairer distribution of asylum seekers.

In collaboration with government officials and local stakeholders, Conor has also secured opportunities such as the invitation for BCP Council to participate in the 'High Street Rental Auction Trailblazer' programme, empowering our council with new powers to revitalise vacant commercial properties.

Conor also recently agreed to chair the Bournemouth Town Centre Action Partnership Group, bringing together the BCP council, local businesses, universities, the police, landlords, and individuals who recognise the urgency of the action needed for our town centre. By convening key stakeholders and demanding action, we're determined to create a brighter future for our town.

None of these achievements would have been possible without your active engagement and participation. Your voices have been heard, and your contributions have been invaluable in shaping our progress thus far. However, there is still much work to be done, and Conor urges you to continue sharing your thoughts and concerns by completing his survey here:
