Conor meets with YMCA CEO to discuss helping those with addictions

Conor recently met with the Chief Executive Officer of Bournemouth YMCA, Dr Gareth Sherwood, to discuss the difficulties of treating some addictions as mental health issues in order to get the best help possible for addicts and assisting those trying to help them.

Conor visits Quay School

Conor visited Quay School recently where he was given a tour of the school by a member of staff and then chatted with the head teacher Mr Russell Arnold, as well as other members of staff.

Conor attends meeting on tackling homelessness

Conor recently met with a number of local people at St Peter’s Church to discuss homelessness in the town.  This forms part of a PhD that the rector the Rev Dr Ian Terry is undertaking.

Conor hosts the Industrial Strategy Schools Challenge at BU

At Bournemouth University Conor hosted an event for local schools to present their ideas for an Industrial Strategy.  The winners will head to the House of Commons to present their ideas to the Rt Hon Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Conor visits new Spice of India restaurant

Conor met with Kinson business leaders and Conservative council candidates for the new ward of Kinson at the new Spice of India restaurant in Wimborne Road.  Conor had previously been due to open the new restaurant, but was unable to do so because of parliamentary business.

Conor hosts the People's Postcode Lottery in Poole

Conor is always keen to help local smaller charities access whatever funds there are available to them. Recently he organised for the People's Postcode Lottery to come to Poole and run a workshop for charities to enable them to learn the best ways of securing funds from the lottery for local good
