One of Conor’s first priorities since becoming your MP has been to push for vital funding for improvements to the Bourne Academy.
Conor had a series of meetings with Ministers and took representatives of local schools to Whitehall.
After much lobbying the government awarded the Bourne Academy £9,904,249 to grow to 1,000 pupils and develop an Engineering Department.
The Bourne Academy was opened by Conor at a ceremony in September 2010 and he has visited many times since.
Jackie Steel, Former Headteacher, of the Bourne Academy said “I enjoyed working with Conor. He has a direct non·sense approach that focuses on results. He was very supportive in getting the school rebuilt and after that was always available to support us - even by text during evenings and weekends. Conor is an exceptional politician and a person who gets things done.”
