Local residents association, the Winton Forum, has been reported as welcoming the enforcement of a new law designed to tackle some of the negative effects of student housing in parts of Bournemouth.

It has been bought to Conor’s attention that in the three months from September to December 2011 The Bourne Academy was the victim of the theft on three separate occasions, with thieves stealing lead from the building.

The total to repair and replace the stolen lead with a non lead substitute currently stands at £46,521.60.

I had the great privilege of visiting Number 10 Downing Street on Wednesday evening this week to attend a reception to celebrate the Jewish Festival of Chanukah.  At the reception, which was hosted by the Chancellor George Osbourne and the Education Secretary Michael Gove, we had the great honour of listening to a thought provoking speech by the Chief Rabbi.

Conor Burns is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Bournemouth West, Branksome East and Alderney. He lives in Westbourne in Bournemouth West. He has pledged to be a community-focused MP who works as a voice in Westminster for his constituents, putting them before anything else.

Conor's constituency is a new one, including Bournemouth West, parts of Branksome, the Bourne Valley and Alderney in Poole. The area is diverse, with urban and rural neighbourhoods and a population of young families, key workers, students and pensioners.
